Paul
Hardy is the proud owner of Hardright Bakery, a
Christian-run business that is family owned and
operated. Paul and Rudine both natives of Atlanta,
Georgia have over 50 years of combined experience
in the baking industry. Hardright (the name
combines Hardy and Wright, Rudine's maiden name)
was established after their pastor encouraged them
to venture into business and backed them with a
$1200 loan.
Paul
has been a baker for 37 years, beginning
his career as a 16-year old dishwasher at a
Piccadilly Cafeteria. There he developed an
interest in baking, encouraged by his brother, who
was the cafeteria's head baker. After high school,
he began a five-year stint as baker at the
Peachtree Plaza Hotel and later held positions as
pastry chef at Colony Square Hotel and the World
Congress Center. While at the World Congress Center, he
"started the scratch bakery" and on
September 1, 1989, Hardright Bakery was born.
Hardright
Bakery has been in business for 20 years producing
freshly baked goods daily in East Atlanta. Its specialties include freshly
baked wedding and birthday cakes, brownies,
danishes, muffins, French and English pastries,
bagels, cookies, pies, tarts and breads that are
delivered to some of Atlanta's finest hotels.
Hardright's customers includes the Holiday Inn,
Crowne Plaza, Marriott, Sheraton, Radisson and the
Hilton. They also cater and deliver to
restaurants, corporate functions and other
businesses in the city.
Paul
attributes the success of Hardright Bakery to
their belief in God and their strong biblical
principals. "To God be the Glory" is
Hardright's motto which emphasizes that all
aspects of the operation - from the initial setup,
to the idea, to the triumphs over adversity, to
the long list of clients - are from God.
